Step-by-Step: How to Register for a KRA PIN on iTax
- Visit the KRA iTax Portal
Go to https://itax.kra.go.ke - Click ‘New PIN Registration’
Under “Do You Want to Apply for a PIN?”, select “New PIN Registration.” - Choose Taxpayer Type
Select either “Individual” (for personal PIN) or “Non-Individual” (for businesses). - Enter Personal Details
Fill in your ID number, date of birth, and other required fields. - Provide Contact Information
Enter your current address, phone number, and a working email address. - Set a Security Question
Choose and answer a security question to help recover your PIN later. - Submit Application

What Happens After Registration?
You’ll receive:
- Your KRA PIN Certificate as a PDF
- Access to the iTax portal for filing returns, updating details, or applying for services
